Yes, it’s true. People only hear what they want to hear. Mr. Trump’s recent remarks prove my point perfectly.
What Mr. Trump said in South Carolina:
“Donald J. Trump is calling for a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States until our country’s representatives can figure out what the hell is going on.”
What I heard Mr. Trump say in South Carolina:

What the left heard Mr. Trump say in South Carolina:
“Donald J. Trump is calling for a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States.”
First of all, there’s no way Mr. Trump, or anyone else, can bar Muslim citizens of the United States from returning home. It’s never going to happen.
So let’s get back to what he actually said. I have no idea why that statement, taken in its entirety, has gotten the left’s panties in a twist. There is no right to emigrate to the U.S. The federal government has really one job (despite how it has expanded) and that is to keep the citizens of the U.S. safe. So then, why is it not prudent for us, as a Nation, to sit back, relax, take a deep breath, get all our ducks in a row, come up with a comprehensive plan to vet each and every person attempting to come into this country, for the protection of our own citizens. Is that so wrong?
I was shocked to learn that, in 2014, our government had a “secret policy” which mandated that “immigration officials were not allowed to use or review social media as part of the screening process,” according to John Cohen, a former acting under-secretary at DHS for intelligence and analysis. No wonder I, and many other Americans, have absolutely no confidence in this Administration’s ability to vet anyone coming into this country.
Is this unbelievable or what? Everyone knows that ISIS and other terror groups use social media very effectively to recruit. Even NY Sen. Chuck Schumer said “had they checked out Tashfeen Malik maybe those people in San Bernardino would be alive.” Sadly, it’s a little too late, don’t you think?
Even the NY Times reported that this savage had extensive social media activity which included her support of jihad and her desire to be part of it. Why didn’t our government know about it?
When I read a poll that says 51% of American Muslims want the choice to be governed according to shariah and that a full 25% of those American Muslims agreed that “violence against Americans here in the United States can be justified as part of the global jihad,” am I the only person here that thinks, “we’ve got a problem.” When people don’t intend to accept our Constitution as the law of the land, we have a serious problem with their intent to assimilate and be a part of this Nation.
So now the Obama administration wants to bring in 10,000 Syrian refugees (although during one of the Democrat debates 65,000 was the number being tossed around), but I believe it will be much higher, without a proper vetting progress. Please tell me, Mr. Obama, what databases are your people going to be using to identify these refugees? Are you going to allow vetting of their social media? What’s the plan to track these newcomers once they’re in the country? Even the DHS Secretary says ISIS could exploit the refugee process.
Why aren’t the countries in the Middle East taking all these refugees? Why are they heading to Europe and, now, to the United States?
What I really don’t get is the number of young men I see in the lines of refugees leaving Syria. In all likelihood, the U.S. will have to send ground troops to wipe ISIS off the face of the map. So, why are twenty- and thirty-somethings leaving Syria as refugees and our twenty- and thirty-somethings eventually will be heading back there to save the day? Why aren’t the twenty- and thirty-something Syrians staying and fighting for their own country?
Let’s talk about money. The United States is the most generous country in the world, but, at some point, we have to step back and say, “can we afford to take in another 10,000, 65,000, 100,000 people? You have to know once these people are in the country, we will then have to provide them with free education, free health care, free food, free money, free everything. We don’t have enough jobs here for Americans. What are the refugees planning to do? We’re already almost $20,000,000,000,000.00 (that’s $20 trillion) in debt – how much more debt do we have to incur?
We have allowed 11 million illegal aliens to reside in the United States and reap her benefits. We have heard every candidate talk about comprehensive immigration reform – which, of course, no one has done anything about. Don’t we already have a big enough problem? Why is waiting for Congress to figure this out a bad thing? Maybe if Congress worked 50 weeks a year, 40 hours a week, like the rest of the country, something would get done.
For those saying this is a “freedom of religion” thing, well, the Constitution only kicks in when you’re living in the United States. Do you think when you travel as an American citizen, the freedoms you enjoy here in the United States follow you? I don’t think so.
Just remember the shoe bomber, the Beltway snipers, the Fort Hood shooter, the underwear bomber, the U.S.S. Cole bombers, the Madrid train bombers, the Bali nightclub bombers, the London subway bombers, the Moscow Theatre attackers, the Boston Marathon bombers, Pan-Am flight #93 bombers, the Air France Entebbe hijackers, the Iranian Embassy takeover, the Beirut U.S. Embassy bombers, the Libyan U.S. Embassy attackers, the Buenos Aires suicide bombers, the Israeli Olympic Team attackers, the Kenyan and Tanzania U.S. Embassy bombers, the Saudi Khobar Towers bombers, the Beirut Marine barracks bombers, the Beslan Russian school attackers, the 1993 World Trade Center bombers, the Mumbai attackers, the Achille Lauro cruise ship hijackers, the September 11th airline hijackers, the TWA flight #847 hijackers, the 2002 LAX shooter, the CIA headquarters shooter, the Benghazi U.S. Consulate attackers, the Paris attackers, and the San Bernardino shooters had one thing in common – they were all radical Muslim jihadists.
Until our government recognizes the problem, it will never be solved. And to those who don’t like what Mr. Trump had to say, you were never going to vote for him in the first place.
